R D Tiger Moth Flights operate from the Devon & Somerset Flight Training School under their own DTO 0402 based at Dunkeswell Aerodrome, Nr Honiton, Devon. EX14 4LG.
In these Terms and Conditions, unless the context otherwise requires:
“Company”, “we”, “us” and “our” means RD Tiger Moth Flights (the company providing the services).
“You” and “your” means the person making a booking and/or the holder or user of a voucher or gift card.
Words in the singular include the plural and vice versa. Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
The flights provided by RD Tiger Moth Flights are Air Experience Flights (exercise 3) which can count towards the issue of a licence. Control of the aircraft can be given to the person for whom the Voucher or Booking was designed for, but only if the Pilot in Command is a fully Qualified Instructor.
These Terms and Conditions apply to all flights and flight vouchers bought or placed by, or on behalf of, our clients. By purchasing a Voucher or booking a Flight with the Company, you agree on behalf of yourself, or the person for whom the Flight is intended, to be bound by them in their entirety.
All bookings are subject to availability and weather conditions. Flights must be booked in advance. Full payment or a valid voucher is required at the time of booking. The person making the booking must be at least 18 years of age.
Flight durations are approximate and may vary due to air traffic or weather. We reserve the right to alter routes, timings, or aircraft at our discretion. All flights are conducted under Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations. Passengers must follow all pilot and ground crew instructions.
Participants must be between the ages of 14yrs and 89yrs, be in good general health, and be able to enter and exit the aircraft without assistance. They must be under 114 kg (250 lbs) and below 6 ft 4 in (193 cm). Passengers must not fly under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or impairing medication. Any relevant medical condition must be declared at booking.
You will be flying in an open cockpit aircraft and as such, you should wear suitable clothing to keep you warm. We will provide a flying suit, a leather flying jacket, suitable head gear with intercom and goggles/visor for your use on the day. It would be preferable to wear trainers. Heavy boots or shoes with Stiletto heels are not allowed.
Flights are weather dependent and may be postponed at short notice. If your flight is cancelled due to weather or operational reasons, you may rebook at no cost. Refunds are not offered for weather cancellations unless required by law.
Vouchers and gift cards are valid for 12 months from date of purchase, unless stated otherwise. They may be redeemed only for flights taking place between March and October (inclusive). All flights purchased using a voucher or gift card must be booked and flown within the validity period shown. The expiry date is stated on the voucher or gift card.
Extensions may be available, at our discretion, for an administrative fee. Lost, stolen or damaged vouchers and gift cards cannot be replaced. Vouchers and gift cards are non-refundable. They may be transferred to another person only with our prior consent.
You must present your voucher or booking confirmation on arrival at the aerodrome.
You may cancel within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, provided no flight has taken place. Cancellations made more than 14 days after purchase may be rebooked free of charge (subject to availability). Failure to attend on the day (“no-show”) will result in the booking and/or voucher being forfeited. Refunds outside the 14-day period are only offered in exceptional circumstances and at our discretion.
If a flight is cancelled, it must be rebooked to take place within the original voucher or gift card validity period. If we are unable to offer suitable alternative dates within that period, we will extend the validity free of charge until 30 September of the following year.
Gift Cards purchased directly from us are non-refundable after the 14-day cooling-off period. Vouchers purchased via third parties are subject to the third party’s own terms and conditions.
If we cancel a flight for any reason set out in our Flight Conditions, no refund will be payable. However, the voucher may be transferred to another person with our prior consent.
We are not responsible for any travel, accommodation or other associated costs incurred, regardless of the reason for cancellation or rescheduling.
All flights are subject to suitable weather conditions, aircraft serviceability and sufficient (minimum) passenger numbers. In the event that insufficient numbers have been booked prior to a flying day, we may cancel flights for that date and offer alternative dates. RD Tiger Moth Flights accepts no responsibility for bad weather, unforeseen mechanical problems or unforeseen events causing the contracted flight to be cancelled or altered from that contracted for.
We cannot be held liable for any costs incurred in these circumstances. Any delays or cancellations will be advised to the customer by text message and email, so please ensure your contact details are correct and up to date. If you fail to arrive by your scheduled reporting time on the day of your pre-booked flight, or do not present your flight voucher or booking confirmation, then you may forfeit your flight.
If the flight is cancelled for whatever reason, it is your responsibility to re-book your flight with us and the new flight date must fall within 12 months of the date of the cancelled/postponed flight, after which your booking will expire. However, we will endeavour to offer you another suitable date up to the end of September the following year. If you fail to do this, we reserve the right to void the flight. RD Tiger Moth Flights maintains the right to cancel, alter or reschedule your flying activity without incurring any penalty.
All flight times are Airborne Times as during busy periods taxiing time could eat into the trip and we want to give you the very best experience.
Once the booking has been made a Safety Video will be sent to you. This Video provides important safety information, so it is imperative that you give it your full attention. You must comply with any further safety briefings and instructions. We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel a flight for unsafe or disruptive behaviour.
Cameras and phones may not be taken aboard the aircraft. This is for safety reasons. However, friends and family are welcome to video or photo you from a safe distance. The Ground Crew will advise you of this.
All flights are covered by appropriate CAA-approved insurance. RD Tiger Moth Flights shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury except where caused by negligence.
Participation is at the passenger’s own risk.
If purchasing a flight as a gift, the buyer is responsible for ensuring the recipient meets all eligibility requirements. The recipient must agree to these Terms and Conditions before flying.
Once you have booked the date of your flight, you may make amendments to the date and time of the booking, however we require at least 7 days’ notice for any such amendments. We reserve the right to postpone a flight previously booked and to offer an alternative booking.
All flights must be booked in advance. A Safety Video will be emailed to either the person booking the flight or the person taking the flight depending upon the circumstances of the booking. It is the responsibility of the person taking the flight to watch the video. Should the booking be a surprise, the person taking the flight must watch the video prior to taking the flight. The Video is quite short but you must arrive at the airfield to allow enough time to view it before taking the flight.
The purchaser or the person(s) for whom the Experience is intended needs to be aware that the provision of the service is both seasonal, entirely weather dependant and subject to operational circumstance.
All Flights are operated and insured by RD Tiger Moth Flights and regulated by The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) under GBR.DTO.0402.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit to fly. You must be able to climb onto the wing, raise your leg high enough to step into the cockpit. Help will be available and we will provide a small step with a supporting handle but it is your responsibility to ensure you can get into the cockpit before booking. Passengers must not fly if suffering from any condition which may create or lead to a dangerous situation in flight such as, but not limited to, blackouts, epilepsy, recurrent fainting or giddiness, any nervous disorder or other relevant illness or injury. Any passenger suffering from the effects of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to fly. No flyer will be allowed to take part in any flight unless signed to confirm that they have watched the safety video.
We comply with UK Data Protection laws. Personal data is used solely for managing bookings and communications related to RD Tiger Moth Flights.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
